Wow. You didn’t even catch the concept. The point of the post is simple: Mickey will use SB DB bench/incline as an alternative on a light week, compared to a heavy press, board press, dynamic band, etc. Of course he uses olympic lifting, where do you think your speed and jumping comes from as an athlete?? I never said they train like this video, just making a point that people do utilize these techniques. Get with the program and understand training before you open your mouth.

So the Gators won because they benched light DB’s on a swiss ball? They won because of the talent/skill of the players and direction of the coach. If they actually trained like this video it just means they could’ve been even better/stronger/faster/more powerful if they trained properly (heavy powerlifting/olympic lifting).

I guess Mickey Marotti is an idiot then, and he only works with the Florida Gators strength and conditioning program. I think he knows a little bit more than you do, considering he has 3 MNC rings (2 Florida, 1 ND) and has developed two heisman winners (Tebow and Rocket). Have you devleoped any athletes of that calibur….didn’t think so..

Its working your stabilizing muscles, some of the smaller ones. Plus hes just showing it. And doing 20’s are pretty small but lower weights build muscular endurance. And yeah the breathing is done wrong.
grambo22 on May 14, 2009 at 10:27 am
How are you going to build chest strength pressing 20lbs DB’s wasting your energy balancing on a ball. Lift heavy if you want to be strong, on a bench. Lifting on a ball is soooooo worthless, only idiots do it.
grambo22 on May 17, 2009 at 1:20 am
You hold a breath through the entire rep idiot, which you would know if you had ever lifted heavy. Try doing a heavy rep of any compound exercise while you breath in during the eccentric.
AhmadMashallah on May 17, 2009 at 7:54 am
breathing part was done wrong
highfunstick on May 20, 2009 at 9:41 am
I think he simply made a verbal mistake when he described proper breathing. If you watch him his is breathing properly.

True Story: One day Mighty Jay Cutler decided to try working out with a Swiss ball, but the needle hanging out of his ass popped it, and he decided to never train with them again

sad isn’t it… dumbarses like this moron trying to teach people how to ruin their bodies and get pathetic results.

You should be inhaling on the negative, this is a pretty basic rule and you got it wrong………..NEXT

True, but if you don’t have great form with squats and deadlifts you can hurt your back quite easily. But yes, squats and deadlifts are good for your core.
KaseyAkira on May 26, 2009 at 10:45 am
squats and deadlifts work your core with even greater efficiency.
maoswidow on May 29, 2009 at 11:11 am
oh shutup! if you don’t like it, don’t watch.
kinghangabar1 on May 29, 2009 at 4:22 pm
yo, even if this doesn’t get you totally jacked it’s pretty efficient. Exercise balls work your core while working other groups. It’s great for people who need a great 20-30 minute routine.
KaseyAkira on May 30, 2009 at 9:10 am
You know, it seems like every exercise video this “expert village” puts out has to be of this guy.
First, he’s NOT an expert. He probably doesn’t know what ATP is.
Second, you’d think a site with a name as pretentious as “expert village” would spend just a little more effort finding, an actual, EXPERT! It doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence on any of their other videos.
SeanSevenYears on June 1, 2009 at 11:30 pm
freeweights work the stableizer enough. You isolate the muscle with free weights that you want to work on..the ball is not needed…and when it pops your gonna injure yourself…i wouldnt trust holding the 95’s on the ball..godbless
SeanSevenYears on June 5, 2009 at 6:37 am
those things are an accident waiting to happen……you can get plenty massive without ever touching a ball…jay cutler has never touched one and hes mr.olympia now…ahahah peace

Thanks for the tips. I am buying one for my house. Love using it for my abs, never thought about using it to do presses or a platform for push ups.
